Why we love it

Although there are several species of Patchouli, the best oil is considered to be distilled from the cablin variety. The plant is a shrub with large leaves and small pink flowers. The oil itself is orange-brown in colour. Patchouli has a distinct earthy aroma and is best known as a regenerating skin care oil. Patchouli is a good treatment for acne, dermatitis, eczema, fungal infections, wrinkles and wounds. It has been known to speed up the healing process and tighten and tone the skin. It also aids in digestion, suppresses the appetite, and relieves nausea. Therapeutically it is uplifting, anti-inflammatory and bactericidal.

Description

Directions for Use
Essential oils are the highly concentrated active ingredients of plants. They should always be diluted in a base before use and should not be taken internally without professional recommendation.

  • Baths: Add 5 - 10 drops of essential oil(s) to a warm run bath. If skin is sensitive, blend the essential oil in a teaspoon of carrier oil first. Close the door so the vapours don't escape. Soak for at least 10 minutes relaxing and breathing deeply. For added moisturising dilute the oils in 10ml of carrier before adding to the bath.
  • Massage: add 5 - 6 drops of essential oil per 10ml of carrier oil. Mix thoroughly and apply liberally to the skin.
  • Inhalations: Add 4 - 5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and lean over the bowl. Inhale the vapour for a few minutes.
  • Burners and Diffusers: Fill the bowl of the burner/vaporiser with water and then add 3 - 6 drops of essential oil. Light the candle and the oil will evaporate as the water heats up. Do not let the bowl dry out.

Caring for Your Essential Oils
SOil essential oils and carrier oils are living products that are vulnerable to heat, moisture, air and light. It is best to store them in a cool, dark place with the lids well sealed. If your fridge is the only cool place around, allow the oils to reach a cool room temperature before use (around 20 degrees C).

Interesting oil. Grows on you! Am trying it out for raising the vibration when doing space / house clearing. Removing negative vibes.
I’ve not used this oil before but am loving it. So far I’ve only burned it in my oil burner, it has a lingering frangrence, earthy.
This has a very earthy scent. It smells the ground after a fresh rain. I don't love the smell to diffuse but like the benefits for skin
I bought it recently, and have only just started using it. Strong aroma, so I think a little will go a long way. Smells to me like earthy / spicy mixture. Might be good to use in a mixture for perfume in winter (too heavy for summer). Have used in a blend with other oils for roll-on.
I had high hopes for this oil as I've read about all the benefits but I really don't like it. I know it's just my personal preference but I can't stand the smell. It reminds me of an old hippy and it made my house and diffuser smell of a 60's festival for days after.
