I used their previous lip balm, which was wonderful, and was saddened when it was discontinued. Imagine how excited I was when this new product came out, only to be disappointed. Where the previous product was thick and nourishing, this gives one the sensation of vaseline filled with grit on your lips. It's got lots of little bits in, is very thin and kind of oily, and your lips feel even drier than they were within minutes. If I could give this zero stars I would. Bring back your old lip balm, Goodleaf.
I have to agree with Estelle. The texture is gritty, oily and unpleasant and the lip balm does not stay on your lips . So you sort of end up eating it and the taste is not pleasant. I also have no idea how this lip balm manages to make lips drier after application. I wanted to try this as a spoil at this price as I usually use the beeswax-based lip balms from Simply Bee or Kalyan, which are at least half the price. They work so much better. Back to the usuals for me.
The one I got a few months ago is perfectly smooth and easy to apply, even now in the cold, so probably a different batch than below reviews. It is a nice glossy-ish balm and seems nourishing, though light/ not thick. At first I thought the smell was too strong of earthy essential oils, which I’m sensitive to, but I got used to it and it was fine. However, I don’t think it is really worth it for the small quantity; it will give far less applications than a regular tube, making it too expensive, especially if you use lip balm multiple times a day. I could see people who need less frequent use enjoying it as part of a skincare routine though, the tube does look cute.
